We have all seen the pictures of folks with cucumber on their eyes. But what are the benefits of this?

Here is advise on using cucumber for your eyes.

Did you know that a lot of skin care products use cucumber in their ingredients? Added to your daily skin care routine or adding freshly grated cucumber to your skin care product (only do this to the cream you are using that day and not the whole product) Placing cucumber on your eyes will revitalize the skin.

Cucumbers have a subtle, mild skin lightening effect, so will challenge the dark circle around the eyes and lighten and reduce puffiness giving the effect of younger looking skin.

The active ingredient in cucumber is ascorbic acid, reducing the water retention, swelling and puffiness in the eye area. If you are suffering from sun burn a sliced or grated cucumber on a sun burn can provide eyou with an instant, cooling relief. Using the pulp will instantly ease the skin bringing immediate brightness and improve your complexion especially those of you who suffer from Rosacea and bloodshot eyes.

How to use correctly:

Always have clean hands.
Don’t swap the cucumbers over as this could encourage infection.
Use organic cucumber to make sure you are not applying chemicals.

Apply two slices of freshly cut cucumber onto your eye area to help reduce the appearance of under eye darkness and puffiness

Apply freshly made cucumber juice with a cotton bud to freckles and target the area you want to zap.

  • One whole cucumber grated
  • 2 dessert spoons of good local honey
  • 2 tea spoons of alow vera gel. (refer to aloe vera blog for more aloe advice) apple cucumber vinegar

Cucumber Eye Freshener and Blemish Attack©

  • 1/4 grated cucumber
  • 3 tea spoons od apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tea spoons of freshly juiced lemon
  • 1 drop of sandlewood (optional as it can be quite expensive)
  • Mix and apply using a cotton bud
