How I healed my asthma by treating hook worm and intestinal parasites

Natural ways to cure Asthma and Allergies

Asthma medication was a big part of my life. I could go out without my puffers and if I did I would freak out. From birth I had bronchial problems. Puffers, anti-histamines and carrying round an Epipen full of adrenalin were just part of my life dependant on drugs to control my allergies. At 14 I started juicing. I began with combinations like carrot and apple, I gradually progressing to more extraordinary and unusual taste sensations. Now I love anything with ginger and a chunk of turmeric.

Asthma and allergies are indicators that the body has resorted to an increase in production of histamine. This is the sensor for the metabolism of water and its distribution within the body. According to Dr F Batmanghelidj in his wonderful book “Your Body’s Many Cries For Water”, when the body is adequately hydrated (link to blog of hydration) histamine activity will remain unexaggerated. When the body is dehydrated, histamine activity becomes exaggerated for water regulation and this has a knock on effect for the immune system and lung function. I wish I had read this book while I was growing up. Anyone with allergies and asthma in the family should get a copy of this book.

My Story and Passion4Juice

Hi my name is Trish and I run a mobile juice business called Passion 4 Juice. Along with being a a Gold Award Thermomix demonstrator and mother of two lovely boys. We travel throughout the UK and Australia enjoying enless summers. At Passion 4 Juice we adore helping festivals feel better by providing them with our delicious, nutricious juices and smoothies, enery shots and BOOSTS.

I am in my fourth year of studying nutrition and even though I have had a keen interest in healing with the power of food since a teenager, Juicing has been my passion of mine since my Mum gave me a juicer for my 14th Birthday, together with a book called the Uses of Juices which I LOVE and still refer to regularly. My aim is to help people, with the power of juicing have more energy and create a healthier lifestyle free from pain and disease. I have experienced the first hand benefits of good nutrition such as more energy; increased tolerance of stress; balanced moods; and stable blood sugar. I suffered allergies and asthma for my whole life. So when I was 14 wrote a diary of my diet to help improve my asthma. My asthma medication was just part of my life. I had bronchial problems all my life. Puffers, anti-histamines and carrying round an Epipen full of adrenalin were just part of my life dependant on drugs to control my allergies. At 14 I realised my love for juicing and sharing my health tips with others was into turning a passion of mine. I began with combinations like carrot and apple, I gradually progressing to more extraordinary and unusual taste sensations. Now I love anything with ginger and a dash turmeric.

Juicing Tips – What To Do With All The Left Over Pulp?

Another significant benefit of juicing is all the leftover pulp. This is a natural by-product of juicing. The juice contains concentrated amounts of nutrients; the pulp retains the fibre and a substantial amount of the nutrients as well.

  • Put it into cakes and slices – re-use pineapple and apple pulp in our home made cakes or fruit slice.
  • Pulp is great for garden compost – except citrus.
  • Put pulp to worm and pig farms – they both love it!
  • In the winter it is great in porridge – especially apple as it gives a great flavour and excellent amount of fibre
  • Concerned about extra fibre, add a teaspoon of the fibre to your juice – stir it in and sip away!
  • Also put left over grated carrot fibre into the evening meal – kids won’t notice ad it is very good for them.
